West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for a Clinical Research Coordinator with the Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry.

About the Opportunity

WVU Health Sciences Center, Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to work on two clinical research studies. The first study will investigate regional variations in the use of fentanyl and problems initiating addiction treatment among individuals using illicitly manufactured fentanyl. The second will  investigate the use of a novel intervention to improve engagement and retention in treatment for patients with comorbid chronic pain and opioid use disorder.

We are seeking a flexible, detail-oriented, and well-organized candidate who has worked with patients with substance use disorders and has a background in or understanding of healthcare processes.

What you’ll do:

•    Experience submitting IRB protocols, recruiting study participants, and obtaining written informed consent.
•    Experience working on human clinical studies and preference will be given to applicants with experience working with patients with substance use disorders
•    Be willing to conduct study interviews, track study participation and the distribution of study incentives.
•    Be able to coordinate study meetings with the investigative team and provide ongoing assistance to ensure that the study activities are completed in a timely manner.
•    Perform data entry, data quality assurance procedures and prepare data for analysis
•    Contribute to other study-related activities as needed. 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, sociology, neuroscience or other related field
• At least one (1) year of experience conducting human clinical research preferably experience working with patients with substance use disordersl Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using REDCap
• Familiarity with statistical software packages used for data analysis
• Compliant with WVU Medicine guidelines for working in clinical settings
• Ability to work between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday and flexibility to work early evenings as needed
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook and Excel).
• Proficiency in data capture software (e.g., REDCap) and analysis software (e.g. SAS, Stata).
