Job Summary

The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for clinical placement of undergraduate students in collaboration with clinical agency liaisons, and maintenance of graduate and undergraduate student records related to clinical requirements. Also assists in the graduate program with CRM and CAS e-application systems. Provides advising, marketing and web support in collaboration with Associate Directors and Director. This individual reports to the Director, School of Nursing.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Clinical Placement Coordinator: Coordinates undergraduate clinical placements across the undergraduate program. Receives clinical requests from faculty and collaborates with clinical agency liaisons to ensure placements.
  • Clinical Placement Compliance: Identifies facility requirements at each clinical placement location, such as orientation and electronic health record training, and communicates these requirements to instructors and student groups in a timely manner. Maintains a record of these facility requirements, updating them as required when the facility changes their expectations. Monitors requirement compliance of students.
  • Graduate Advising: Oversees and documents advising students in the graduate program. Maintains records and certifies completion of graduation requirements.
  • Medical Records Management: Oversees and maintains records for undergraduate and graduate student clinical requirements (immunizations, CPR, and criminal background checks). Ensures that students understand the requirements and how to use Compliance Tracker for uploading documents.
  • Graduate Enrollment Management: Co-manages the CRM and CAS e-application system for graduate students in conjunction with the Associate Director. Maintains student files and provides advising support for graduate students.
  • Recruitment, Marketing and Outreach: Provides marketing support for the graduate program by attending campus and community events where the program can be marketed.
  • Administrative: Assists in preparing School of Nursing reports (Undergraduate and Graduate) as directed by the Director and Associate Directors. Assists with website management for the SON. Other related administrative duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements programs and initiatives that touch on various/multiple student-related goals, such as enhancing and reinforcing academic engagement and experiential learning; increasing student engagement, wellness, and involvement; fostering learning, inclusion, and development; supporting students in crisis and adversity; and improving the student campus experience.
  • Interfaces directly with students by attending student programming events, advising student organization leaders, meeting one-on-one to discuss areas of concern on campus, and gathering satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student services initiatives and objectives.
  • Collaborates with staff in own department and other departments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on shared student services goals, often coordinating funding to sponsor student programs and initiatives.
  • Projects outcomes for services offered at the program, department/division, or campus level. Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student services against projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on impact to students and budget and may present to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.
  • Serves on committees and performs student services research across the field of higher education and at peer institutions to identify and recommend best practices.
  • Plans and coordinates communications for student services initiatives to ensure student participation and engagement.
  • May provide guidance to other student services staff; makes process recommendations to manager for improved delivery of service.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in public affairs, counseling, social work, education, business, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years in student services, higher education, or related field
Preferred
  • 2 years in an academic, education and/or health care setting
  • Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce

    Working Conditions / Demands

    This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

    Annual Pay Rate: $42,000 - $45,000
