Job Summary:

The mission of the CASPAR Women's residential programs is to provide a safe environment and comprehensive clinical program to women in early recovery. This is to be provided in a respectful and compassionate manner, through the development of individualized treatment and aftercare planning.

Your position as Clinical Director supports this mission in your job to regularly assist in the day-to-day administration, program development and clinical operations for the CASPAR Women's Programs. This is an exempt position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews and arranges the hiring of new clinical / case management staff
  • Plans work schedule for clinical staff
  • Organizes or coordinates with other managers all in-service programs for staff
  • Provides individual and group supervision to Counselors, Case Managers, Recovery Specialists
  • Supports these staff in developing skill in responding to complex issues
Essential Functions of Position:

Clinical:
  • Plan, organize and carry out general clinical management duties on the unit
  • Orient, instruct and supervise clinical staff
  • Perform duties of direct clinical staff as required
  • Review and interpret work performance of clinical staff against accepted standards and job descriptions
  • Review and evaluate patients' clinical records including treatment plans, counseling and case management progress notes, psychosocial assessments and signed consent forms
  • Assure that patients have a clean, comfortable and safe environment
  • Evaluate and assess social, psychological and motivational needs of the patient
  • Make independent decisions regarding counseling and case management practice
  • Evaluate emergencies to determine emergency measures necessary, keep program director notified and complete incident reports
  • Perform duties of clinical line staff as needed.
  • Supervisors may conduct assessments and provide individual and group
Program Management and Operations:
  • Mediate staff differences, handles personnel grievances or refers them to the program director
  • Maintain statistics as directed and prepare reports as required
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and accreditation codes for acute treatment services
  • Attend multidiscipline case conference daily
  • Coordinate in-service education and training
  • Act as an administrative resource in absence of program director
  • Organize and monitor in-service and orientation program for all staff
  • Represent the program director in his/her absence
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as part of management team
  • Work with program director to analyze and evaluate all staff needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by program director
Requirements for the position:

Professional Qualifications:
  • Must have completed a master's degree in Social Work or one of the following disciplines: clinical psychology, education-counseling, social work; OR possess a LADC1
  • Should have at least two years supervisory experience and two year's experience in direct clinical supervision of staff is preferred
  • Certificate in substance abuse treatment preferred
  • At least two year's experience in substance abuse or mental health setting
  • Thorough knowledge of dual diagnosis and treatment resources available in the substance abuse and mental health fields
  • Demonstrated documentation and communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively/brainstorm
  • Ability to work as a management and treatment team member as well as independently
  • Ability to interpret principals of good management and implement application of these principals in daily work
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to function under pressure in a fast-paced human services environment
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve differences
  • Ability to be flexible, open and responsive to ongoing industry changes
  • Ability to articulate and communicate Bay Cove's mission and strategic direction in a consistent and enthusiastic manner to departmental staff
  • A COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the position. One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receiving the second shot within the allotted time frame.
