Charge Entry Specialist

Merakey is looking for a charge entry specialist to join our Financial Services team.

Position Summary

Provides all aspects of data entry relating to services in our billing system and payer billing systems as required. Ensures that information is received and entered within established time-frames, allowing for no disruptions to the revenue cycle.

Duties

• Adheres to and understands all Merakey Corporate and Business Operations policies, standards and procedures.

• Proactively identifies, analyzes and resolves issues to facilitate the efficient and timely charge entry of all vouchers, attendance logs, etc. into the core billing system.

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels as well as external stakeholders

• Establishes productive, customer services oriented relationships with stakeholders providing input to and receiving out from Business Operations process.

• Regularly communicates with management, staff and all other stakeholders with relevant information, feedback and issues relating to their respective programs and processes.

• Ensures that charge entry is consistently received within established time-frames from all sites and programs.

• Facilitates and coordinates all processes relating to both receipt and distribution of vouchers, attendance logs, etc. from programs and sites to the Central Business Office.

• Validates receipt of information from sites and programs

• Prepare batch submissions for charge entry

• Ensures workload balance is constantly maintained.

• Ensures that all charge entry is entered daily, weekly and monthly according to established program guidelines; Accountability for ensuring validation of all entries are performed.

• Develop (in conjunction with mgt.) and provide monthly reports relating to overall productivity and process flow of all Charge Entry functions.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• H.S. Diploma or GED with an Associate Degree in Business Administration preferred.

• Two years of experience working within a health care clerical setting; Strong typing and quality control background; Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and within a group, with minimal daily supervision.

• Proven ability to think outside the box to perform desired results.
