Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Central Shops Material Handler to join a long-term team in Orange, Texas! The ideal candidate will possess prior experience operating a fork truck, handling materials, and operating a flatbed 1-ton truck preferably. Do you have what we’re looking for? Description

The person responsible for managing delivery of material, tools, & equipment repaired by the Central Shops.  This involves working with Shops Work Activity Coordinator to track & deliver materials & equipment to field delivery locations. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist Marshaller on QC Checks on all Marshaled and/or staged materials
  • Shrink wrap or strap materials down prior to delivery.
  • Manages staging of all identified materials/kits to respective shops or areas
  • Deliver materials to appropriate areas following the expectations of shops Work Activity Coordinators.
  • Communicates delivery issues to Work Activity Coordinator as soon as possible to enable time to correct materials (i.e. issues with vendor, delivery, etc.
  • Update electronic material tracking sheet daily
  • Responsible for housekeeping and traffic in Shops receiving area.

 

Knowledge (employee knows/understands):

  • Fully understand the minimum PPE requirements and abide by all
  • Must be fork truck qualified
  • Preferred at least 3yrs industrial experience operating fork trucks
  • Able to operate flatbed 1-Ton Truck

 

Skills (employee is able to):

  • Handle surplus materials and equipment
  • Housekeeping & organization to be a key factor in their role
  • Label and track all materials being staged and delivered
  • Create and use labels to identify location and specific material
  • Identification and disposition of surplus materials and equipment
  • Use of special material handling equipment and tools
  • Understand Site / Buildings / Grounds layouts
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
