The Market President is a leadership role in the management and public relations efforts for the Market. This position is responsible for the strategic execution of commercial production/profitability and goals for their designated market. Also responsible for business development across all products and services in the Bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Expand the Bank’s Commercial Lending presence in the designated Market.
  • Solicit new business relationships for the Bank and cross-sell all of the Bank’s other products.
  • Support all of the Bank’s lines of business in the market; dotted line reporting for other lines of business leaders in the market.
  • Actively attract and retain talent for this market, as needed, to achieve the business plan. Lead the performance management, coaching and learning paths of their team members, foster an environment of collaboration and develop and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Oversee their team’s production to ensure proper structuring in alignment with the Bank’s underwriting standards, adherence to credit policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with site selection for new locations within the market.
  • Review, monitor and final disposition of daily overdraft and uncollected funds reports.
  • Review and monitor delinquency reports and other factors impacting credit transactions to avoid losses for the Bank.
  • Collaborate in the development of team member’s budgets and variable compensation targets (grids) on a semi-annual basis and monitor and track goals progress.
  • Effectively address challenges and conflict that may arise including loan issues.
  • Attend seminars and training sessions to keep abreast of changing regulations, as well as industry/market trends and conditions.
  • Review policies and regulatory issues impacting the market and the financial services industry and/or credit standards and propose changes when appropriate.
  • Conduct site visits to financed projects and/or new projects being considered.
  • Assist in assessing and/or recommending opportunities to enhance or improve Bank’s position in this effort.
  • Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA,USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC and other AML related issues.
  • Identify, evaluate, monitor and make any recommendation deemed necessary to the Risk Management Committee in order to assess, reduce, eliminate, or control any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • Formal credit training required.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in a Commercial Lending role
    5+ years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management
  • Prior management experience
Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:
  • Applied knowledge of commercial loan products, preferably in assigned market.
  • Proven ability to maintain and develop a book of business.
  • Applied knowledge of banking regulations
  • Proficiency navigating bank core systems
