Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking an intern to join our clinical team in 2022. This opportunity will allow an intern to gain an understanding of case management, develop on verbal and written communication skills, and the health insurance industry.

This paid internship can be located in our Coeur d' Alene, Meridian, Idaho Falls, or Twin Falls location.

What we are looking for in an intern:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior or senior standing student
• Critical thinking and analysis
• Problem solving
• Microsoft Office experience - proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
• Ability to report, analyze, and make observation about data and processes
• Good verbal and written skills
• Good organizational and time management skills

What you will learn on this internship:

• Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments and Individualized Care Planning
• Interdisciplinary care and collaboration
• Navigate the healthcare system including Medicare and Medicaid systems
• Case Management
• Quality Metrics within the healthcare system
• Member outreach and engagement
• Complete assessments, care plans, and applicable clinical documentation
• Member education, including community resources and benefits education
