Description Position Title: Graduate Assistant - Campus StoreSupervisor's Title & Department: Campus Store ManagerSession: Academic (August 12, 2024 - May 16, 2025) This is a one-year placement with an opportunity for re-application and hire.Hourly Rate: $17.00/hourAverage hours per week: Up to 20 hours per weekJob Purpose: The graduate assistant assists serves as the supervisor of the Campus Store on Saturdays and is responsible for training and managing student employees. Responsibilities:
    Act as Campus Store supervisor on duty Saturdays 9:30 am to 4:30 pm during the semester which includes breaks and holidays campus events are taking place.Attend and provide student training at weekly student staff meetingsPerform staff duties of opening, closing, running cash register, providing customer service to customers, stocking, inventory management, displays /merchandising, and training/supervising student workers.Balance cash drawer, prepare deposit and sales reports for Saturday and other days assigned.Work with staff on other assignments (Merchandising, Inventory, Shipment check in)Explore/propose new revenue opportunities and products.
Qualifications Qualifications:
    Prefer University of Lynchburg undergraduate who knows the campus- climate, locations, studentsPrefer a 2-year graduate program candidate due to the investment in trainingRetail experience and strong work history desired with aptitude in marketing, communication, and management/supervisory skills.Must have excellent English speaking skills and a positive outgoing personality.Must commit to working every Saturday during the academic year including those that fall on breaks if the university hosts athletic events or visitors during that time.Effective communication and relationship-building skills to address customer service issues and educate parents, students, college employees and visitors regarding store services and policies. Effective communication and relationship building skills for training students on store operations.

Learning Outcomes:
    Ability to work with a diverse population of customers: students, faculty, alumni, prospective students and their families and campus visitors. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Operate store, resolve customer complaints and refunds.Leadership: Train and demonstrate by example: excellent work ethic, operation of store and customer service to student workers.
