Overview

The Systems Engineer to support the Navy Enterprise Business Solutions program office. The Systems Engineer will provide support to APM-Es for systems engineering (SE) planning, integration of engineering management and technical processes across Program Office teams, and engineering analysis of the current ERP platform. Additionally, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all deliverables and technical accuracy of the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), interface requirement specifications and other engineering documentation. Finally, the position requires experience using tools such as Advana, Python, SQL or the like to retrieve Program financial and tracking data to create dashboarding and other reporting functions.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Systems Engineer are as follows:

1) Perform the planning and execution of systems engineering technical management processes - including decision analysis, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management in support of the development of future cost estimation efforts for future ERP deployments.

2) Ask questions in accordance with instructions to obtain various specified information.

3) Identify and resolve inconsistencies in interviewees' responses by means of appropriate questioning and/or explanation.

4) Compile, record and code results and data from interview or survey or other means, using computer or specified form or tools.

5) Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy.

6) Contact individuals to be interviewed by telephone, email, TEAMs, or in person during site visits; 7) Meet with Government lead daily to submit completed assignments and discuss progress;

8) Collect and analyze data.

9) Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• 10) Provide systems engineering rigor for a DoD acquisition program.

• Implement high quality of service, manage large volumes of data, and support complex enterprise information systems.

• 11) Prepare for and participate in review teams with Government personnel, other contractors and systems integrators for program strategies, integrated schedules, test plans, and deployment planning.

• 12) Review program, project, or initiative documentation for technical compliance with appropriate compliance action lists, policy, requirements, standards, and processes

• 13) Evaluate program, project or initiative technical risks.

• 14) Plan and conduct reviews and recommend resolution of technical issues.

• 15) Prepare well-written, detailed systems engineering documentation including analyses, white papers, presentations, etc.
Qualifications

  • The candidate MUST have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in software engineering, systems engineering, or a related field
  • Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working in the planning, execution and monitoring of projects.
  • The candidate must have 5+ years working engineering in the software and hardware technical areas with an understanding of CLOUD consumption.
  • The candidate must have 5+ years in the collection and analysis of data to include the deep analysis of data, its trends in support of cost estimate development. as well as, determining the best way to represent it visually to managers and stakeholders. Experience required in data retrieval tools and SQL language.
  • The candidate must have at least five years of experience implementing systems engineering technical and management processes such as requirements engineering, architecture development, interface management, test and evaluation (T&E), and decision analysis.
  • Experience with Agile and/or DEVSECOPS a plus
  • SAP and/or ERP experience a plus
  • Must be capable of performing effectively individually and as part of a team.
  • Must have effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be able to manage time and be on time to meetings.
  • Must be able perform duties on-site, at the Washington Navy Yard (Post COVID) when required.
Limited travel but candidate must be available to visit Command Business Offices (CBOs) to ascertain their requirements and LOE for them to integrate with the large-scale technical refresh moving to ERP+.
Pay Range

$90 - $130K
