A Pharmaceutical Company is seeking a Business Analyst in Princeton, NJ .

Role Description

This role will provide support and management to the lab computing (benchtop) environment across multiple business areas. Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, timely execution of work, and collaboration with scientists, IT colleagues, and vendors are essential to ensure maximum productivity for the bench scientist as well as to ensure the integrity of both the laboratory data collected and the systems used to collect the data.
• Manage the standard laboratory image(s). Define and scope the various custom configuration tools used in the laboratory. Manage Microsoft Deployment Tools, all required architecture, and define needs and enable service to remote sites as needed. Create and maintain standard operating procedures and associated work instructions documenting this work.
• Administer and improve systems management of lab computers (benchtops). This includes serving as an administrator of Symantec Client Management Suite, a tool set used for the management of computer assets, patches, software deployment, and system recovery services for benchtops. Typical work includes engineering, testing, and deployment of patches and other software to lab computers, updating of hardware standards, deployment of data management strategies, participation in the installation, documentation, and testing of new or relocated instrument capabilities in both regulated and non-regulated laboratories. Support and maintain standard operating procedures pertaining to all tools used to manage benchtop systems.
• The candidate will participate in efforts to install, configure, qualify, document, and support laboratory instrument computer systems in both regulated and non-regulated laboratories. This includes issue resolution for incidents escalated past tier two support and support for the setup of new systems, including interaction with instrument vendors.
• Participate in and may serve as technical lead for projects in support of laboratory computing, both at the local site and across sites.

Skills & Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in science, engineering, math, or computer science. 5 years of IT experience, at least 3 in an R&D environment.
• Candidates must have significant experience with the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of PC hardware and Microsoft Windows in an Active Directory environment. In addition, candidates must have experience with one or more of the following: software testing and deployment, asset lifecycle management, database reporting, and data archival and backup strategies. Relationship management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team are essential to success.
• The successful candidate will also demonstrate progressive growth in responsibilities, supported by examples of driving performance and/or improving processes. He/she should demonstrate an understanding of the need for standards yet also have a willingness to look for new, more effective strategies to support and improve the laboratory computing environment.
• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Deployment Tools, Active Directory reporting and tools using command scripts or any preferred application, laboratory hardware, and database reporting using SQL or Access. An understanding of laboratory science in the pharmaceutical industry and demonstrated project management skills are to the candidate's advantage.
