What you'll be doing:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and heating/air conditioning tasks, installing and repairing equipment and maintaining building and grounds as assigned.

  • Must be willing and able to be on call for emergency duties on a 24-hour basis
  • Installs, repairs and performs preventive maintenance on various equipment in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, maintenance schedule and manufacturer specifications using hand tools and testing instruments
  • Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
  • Replace lighting and ballasts
  • Perform regular building maintenance and repairs. This includes drywall, painting, ceiling tile replacement, roof repairs.
  • General interior maintenance - hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair and install office furniture systems and repair doors
  • Perform repairs on toilets, urinals and sinks
  • Trouble shoot and make repairs on commercial kitchen equipment
  • Maintain irrigation system time clocks, valves, broken pipes, sprinklers, drip systems
  • Calculates quantity of materials needed and other supplies to complete an assigned project
  • Performs various HVAC service and PM responsibilities
  • Keeps up to date preventive maintenance records
  • Shall observe safety rules and regulations at all time
  • Promotes positive customer service with internal and external customers
  • Follow all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas
  • Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them
  • Must complete all required safety trainings as scheduled
  • Follow all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Troubleshoot equipment, plumbing and electrical issues to identify problem and take appropriate action to remedy situation


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Ability and willingness to work outside of trade of choice, operate a forklift and scissor lift, and work in extreme weather conditions when needed
  • Ability to learn and perform all crucial job functions accurately with minimal direct supervision, within probationary period
  • Ability to read blueprints and written instructions
  • Work rapidly and efficiently under emergency situations. Able to lift, push, or pull items weighing more than 50 pounds. Perform work in inaccessible areas.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years' experience in Building Trades/Maintenance field
  • Experience using various computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment, plumbing, electrical malfunctions
  • Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and tools of the trade
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates of applied science from an accredited trade school
  • Supplemental apprentice training or trade school training
  • HVAC experience
