Responsibilities:

• Having at least 5 - 8 years of experience in industry and solidly collaborative interpersonals,
• Azure BI Developer has experience working with the entire Microsoft SQL BI Stack, from ingest to Dashboard, as well as their related Azure cloud components.
• This position calls for a professional consultant, a problem-solver, who takes ownership of tasks and drives them to completion.
• This includes participating in customer meetings to gain a complete understanding of the business problem and related requirements.
• It also involves analyzing, profiling, and mapping data elements to model and create sharable entity-based data frameworks and solutions.
• The consultant is charged with building, on top of this, Data Marts and in-memory cubes that inform dashboards, reports, pivot-tables, and Ad Hoc report tools.
• Developers work to feed these layers with ETL tools like SSIS, DataStage, Qlik Compose, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• The goal of all of this is to support Medicaid clients, and thereby their needy Medicaid members with the use of impactfully actionable insights.

Key Skills:

• Expert knowledge of SQL queries to process large amounts of data in a set-based fashion
• Experience building Business Intelligence artifacts and data-flow pipelines from Data Models to in-memory cubes to top-level dashboards
• Create all solutions in a generic fashion to maximize reuse as dictated by CMS

Required Skills:

• Has worked with datasets over a million rows in size, some of them ugly/messy
• In-depth understanding of T-SQL including Dynamic SQL and the Merge Statement
• Ability to effectively trap and respond appropriately to unhandled errors in code
• Strong ETL development skills with tools such as SQL Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, IBM DataStage, Qlik Compose, Python, etc.
• Can easily code cascading parameter functionality into SSRS reports
• Ability to loop through files from sources like SFTP and Web-Services with ETL tools
• Experience creating agent job steps to schedule the loading of data or the processing of a cube
• Main-stream BI dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAS, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to create dashboards with the ability to drill down and drill across
• Familiar with the use of SVN, TFS, GitHub, GitLab, or other source control software
• Solid understanding of indexing, stored procedures, functions, materialized views, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to create both MDX and Tabular cubes for the correct scenario
• Has experience analyzing Healthcare data

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Distributed Computing
• Strong customer-facing skills--creating rapport and creating solutions
• Has a thorough understanding of entity-based relationship modeling
• Has experience creating Data Marts structures based on reporting requirements from scratch
• Has used tools like ERWin Data Modeler to create dimensional data models
• Good working knowledge of MDX (Time Intelligence), DAX, and the SSIS & SSRS Expression Languages
• Thorough understanding of various SQL windowing functions through regular use
• Experience in designing, creating, and implementing reusable solutions.
• Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Visio to illustrate ideas and solutions for the client
• Comfort-level presenting to business stakeholders and executives

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree Minimum.
