Responsibilities

BASIC FUNCTION: The Business Intelligence Data Analyst defines and coordinates the strategic and tactical implementations for the movement, enhancement, integration, quality and availability of data throughout the organization. Lead the design effort for data structures that include relational and dimensional data frameworks. Ensures that data models are incorporated to an enterprise view of the data elements to ensure access for end users and BI. Focuses on creating data models that enrich the understanding of the business processes and facilitates utilization of data across the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Research, build and implement enterprise data management strategies in areas such as guiding principles, governance documentation, along with processes and standards pertaining to data modeling, database design and architecture, data governance and data quality, data security, metadata management, data integration and data warehousing, reference and master data management as needed
  • Design, develop and maintain an enterprise business centric logical data model and data dictionary incorporating both internal and external information systems, providing relevant data elements to enable ad-hoc and strategic reporting, as well as non-reporting functions.
  • Develop and use business knowledge to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and develop detailed requirements from high-level information.
  • Work with Enterprise Software Architects, Database Architects, and the Application Development teams to establish agreed data acquisition strategies, data management principles and data availability concerning the BI and reporting environments.
  • Lead the strategy and definition for data acquisition.
  • Assist in data quality research, process automation and user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain a structure for business information, understand current and emerging technologies, and align applications with business priorities.
  • Partner with systems operations and development on standards and design of robust, scalable, and maintainable data integration processes.
  • Recommend products; participate in the acquisition, evaluation, testing, establish standards and provide guidance for the use of those products.
  • Develop and maintain effective organizational working relationships and partnerships across the company to enhance enterprise utilization of data.
  • Acts as liaison between Business Technology and our business units in regards to data and BI opportunities.
  • Participate in project scope and data strategy that directly supports the key business drivers.


Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business analytics or related field, and a 3-5 years relevant work experience building, deploying, and supporting Enterprise Data capabilities.
  • Excellent team and communication skills.
  • Good project management skills, oral and written communication skills, and analytical skills necessary.
  • Knowledge of: SQL, Multidimensional Modeling ( Erwin or similar tool), Microsoft .NET development environment and BI toolsets(Microstrategy, Power BI, Terradata) Exposure to other relevant BI tools (Tableau, QlikView etc) or additional programming languages like Python and R is considered a plus.
  • Skills in: T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, PowerShell, Dashboard Reporting, Data Modeling
