ABOUT THE JOB:

The Behavioral Health Learning Specialist, under the direction of the Director of MKSEI, will provide change management support, training, and consultation to staff working with people with mental health, substance use, psychosocial and intellectual/developmental challenges in community-based, day, residential, and child welfare systems of care. With assistance from the MKS Educational Institute (MKSEI) team, the Learning Specialist will help the agency to plan and implement changes in policy, procedures, and practice, and will support the agency in implementation and integration of mission and strategic plan. The Specialist will develop customized training materials and execute plans for sustaining practice and evaluating trainings, and will also participate in all MKSEI endeavors.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Training
    1. Create and deliver evidence-based training packages to teams and/or individuals (within Jewish Board and across the larger social service/behavioral health community) in at least one intervention area such as:
      1. Motivational Interviewing (MI); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT); Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR); Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP); Brief Therapy; Shared Decision Making; and other relevant and emerging evidence-based practices
    2. Create and deliver training packages in family engagement and treatment, recovery oriented practice, substance use, cultural competency, LGBTQ competencies and capabilities, health literacy, and/or trauma informed care
    3. Create and deliver training packages in other areas relevant to schools, care management, child welfare and behavioral health services
  2. Case, Team, and System Consultations
    1. Provide clinical and system consultations to support competency and ensure integration of training into daily agency practice, with a focus on site-based supervisory development and practice improvement strategies, including sustainability planning, outcomes monitoring, and quality improvement support
    2. Assist in the development of program or division model of care and deliver training and consultation supporting model of care implementation, sustainability, and the monitoring and use of outcomes

TO QUALIFY

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented professionals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

You should have:

  • Bachelors and or Master 's degree in Psychology, Social Worker or a related field preferred with a minimum of 2 years of relatable work experience OR High School Degree with a minimum of 2-4 experience in a not-for-profit setting
  • Documented evidence of excellent training skills
  • Experience in evidence-based practice with at least one treatment. Supervisory and training experience in above interventions a plus.
  • Availability to work during set Jewish Board training times and travel to training sites necessary, along with capacity to train within The Jewish Board standards
