Job Description:

The mission of the Sales & Distribution team is to enable the underwriting teams to be more effective, more efficient, and more connected with our trading partners and to deliver the quotable opportunities that we want to write while utilizing our relationships and influence to help bind the business we quote. Our goal is to build a world class distribution platform that will serve to strengthen the brand and support profitable topline growth.

The Strategic Relation role will reinforce our focus to develop deeper relationships with our key brokers. This will directly impact the organization's ability to advance our five-year strategy, drive growth through all market cycles and shift to be a more production focused organization. As a result, our customers will be at center (or the focus) of everything we do. We are seeking someone who has existing strong relationships and will work to develop and maintain relationships with core broker partners by securing strong relationships with key influencers that will help support our growth goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and drive connectivity across Distribution and Underwriting to execute distribution strategies and growth plans to expand Everest's market share, visibility, and relationships with regional and local broker partners
  • Successfully develop, launch, and support sales initiatives and cross sell techniques driving target broker strategies that position Everest to achieve its growth objectives and increase product density
  • Serve as a brand ambassador to educate key broker influencers on Everest's products and maintain regular contact with regional and local brokers
  • Drive strategy / efforts to develop One Everest
  • Increase product density
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all products and be aware of Everest appetite across the board
  • Position Everest to win more ties and retain key renewals
  • Drive business development and distribution strategy in support of Everest's profitability, retention, and growth objectives across regional and local brokers
  • Provide regular broker performance updates
  • Internally with regional teams
  • Externally with brokers to review performance
  • Support Quarterly broker reviews to ensure alignment on mutual business / growth objectives
  • Monitor broker metrics and drivers of performance variance against expectations
  • Collect and share broker intelligence detail for key brokers to accurately align growth opportunities.
  • Ensure customer, distributor and market trends are well understood
  • Support the creation of sales and distribution best practices and manage designated ad-hoc projects
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales effectiveness and robust pipeline development
  • Lead by example to champion the development of a production focused mindset

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry; prior experience in underwriting, sales, distribution, or client relationship management roles
  • Ability to translate broad strategic direction into actionable plans supported by specific goals, tactics, timelines, and budgets
  • Broad industry network with strong understanding of broker needs
  • Ability to develop and execute sales and business development strategies
  • Driven, highly motivated, self-starter
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and negotiation skills
  • A team player that works well with others across various geographies and possesses strong influence and change management skills
  • Ability to use data and analytics to interpret broker metrics to drive performance and help create a robust pipeline of opportunities
