Job Summary

Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication/wiring, layout for equipment and metal fabrication. The Installation Technician IV will be expected to lead and direct installation crews (internal or subcontracted) on large/complex projects and engage in specific system testing by coordinating and reporting progress to Project Manager ensuring projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*\tPerform installation tasks as noted in job summary based on project scope and directives
*\tDemonstrate job site leadership, provide mentorship to all site Technicians on site and verify quality of work
*\tRead and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
*\tUse hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other installation system related tasks
*\tTest point to point cabling and functionality of systems
*\tTest code for control and DSP systems - field load as necessary
*\tMake minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
*\tTrack, manage and secure all associated equipment and tools on jobsite
*\tWork with office staff to initiate return material authorizations as needed
*\tProvide site supervision of install team with direction from the Project Manager
*\tCommunicate daily job site status to the Project Manager and complete required job documentation as needed
*\tAct as customer liaison on site per project scope and directives - direct on-site change requests to Project Manager for confirmation and final direction
*\tCommunicate and coordinate with other trades on site
*\tPerform client training as needed
*\tTravel to various job sites required
*\tOther duties assigned as needed

Skills and Abilities

*\tEffectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
*\tAbility to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
*\tAbility to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
*\tBasic computer knowledge
*\tKnowledge of complex wiring configurations and/or signal flow for audio, video, control
*\tAbility to lead site teams on large, complex projects
*\tMinor control system programming changes and troubleshooting capabilities
*\tKnowledge and use of specific test equipment for required applications
*\tKnowledge and application of industry installation safety codes and standards.

Education and/or Experience
*\tMinimum of 6 - 8 years in audiovisual, electronics or related industry installation experience required
*\tFormal education in Audio Visual, Electronics or related field preferred
*\tCDL preferred
*\tMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
*\tExternal Training:
o\tOSHA 30-Hour Construction Course required
o\tValid and current AVIXA CTS-I General Certification required
o\tSpecific industry specific and manufacturer training / certifications to meet AVI-SPL skill/ability requirements.
*\tConfirmed Project Site Lead Role experience
*\tValid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standards
*\tAbility to obtain formal approved clearances (Government or system specific) may be required.
