SK pharmteco is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team in California. We are a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our integrated facilities located in California, Texas, and Virginia specialize in process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities.
JOB SUMMARY

Mid-level Automation Engineer will be responsible for PLC Programming, Citect HMI Development, and cGMP documentation development and execution. Additional responsibilities will include developing, testing, and maintaining custom software applications to solve unique problems in a manufacturing environment. Execute small internal control system projects, manage larger vendor supported control system projects. Coordinate and advise process engineering on control system requirements. Engineer must be able to perform industrial field work which may involve some lifting, use of ladders, and stairs.

Works under general supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of a team, work cross-functionally with users and stakeholders to implement automation solutions to meet operational needs.
  • Perform controls design and engineering functions in accordance with company standards and policies.
  • Technical document writing, PLC Programming, HMI Development, database programming, test development and execution.
  • Electrical design & CAD work for control schematics.
  • Manage automation system integrator projects.
  • Review and approve vendor-supplied deliverables.
  • Coordination with technicians on instrumentation.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues with existing control systems including occasional 24/7 on-call support.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Automation Systems Experience Required
  • Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience and a bachelor's degree or 0-2 years of related experience and a master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Control system project management and execution.
  • Familiar with FDA regulated quality requirements for control systems. GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, ICH-Q7.
