The Role:

The Program & Portfolio Management Office(P&PM)at Moderna is responsible for management of the development portfolio from lead nomination to licensure.Moderna is seeking a motivated and energeticAssociate Director, Portfolio Analytics and Governance to enablecontinuedexecutionand improvementofgovernanceacross the development portfolio. The successful candidate will work in close coordination with the Program Management Leadership team, Clinical Development Operations, Finance, Strategy and Key Functional Heads across the organization. This rolepresentsan exciting opportunity tofurther establish and improvea newfunctionat Modernathat will continue toscale and drive value as theportfolio expands. Additional focus will be onpartnering with Portfolio Analytics to embedfit for purposereports,metrics and new finance processes intoGovernanceoperations.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for ownership of governancestrategy & operations for one of our therapeutic areas
  • Oversight of Therapeutic Area Review Committee (TARC) and proactively managing and providing line of sight into key upcoming discussions, as well asoversight of monthlydevelopment program updates to executive committee
  • Leadportfolio &governancemanagement includingkey stakeholderengagement(i.e.Therapeutic Area Development Heads, Program Leads, Program Managers),meetingstrategy,process improvementandchange managementactivities
  • Building relationships and collaborating with Program Management and Portfolio Analytics and Governance,program leaders andfunctional leaders across the organization to defineand implementenhancements to governanceand proactively identify and escalate risks, gaps andchallenges
  • Collaborating with program teams and TA Dev Heads toalignon strategies for bringing forwardtimely discussions tofoster early planning andmaximizethe impact of early cross-functionalinput
  • Working withPortfolio Analytics,Program Managementand key finance stakeholderstoeffectivelyembednewfinanceprocessesintogovernance
  • PartneringwithTA Development leadersand thePortfolio Analyticsteamtoembedfit for purposeoperational performancemetricsintogovernanceprocessesand key portfolio deliverables (i.e.monthly development programupdates, data deliverables and enrollment report)
  • Collaborating to buildprogram goalandmetricmanagement into governanceoperations

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS degree with 8 years' experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical settingrequired
  • Advanced degree and 10+ years of experience preferred
  • PMP certificationpreferred
  • Demonstrated experiencebuildingor leading a governance function
  • Experience in drug development, preclinical through clinical development.
  • Strong analytical skills, business knowledge and understanding of clinical development drivers.
  • Effective at managing complex, highly dynamic, scientific & technical organizations to work collaboratively towards a generation of new medicines.
  • Experience building capabilities and development portfolio levelprocesses
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop and contribute to development of conceptual plans and lead implementation of process improvements and change initiatives across the organization.
  • Must be adept at working in a fluid environment and foster a strong collaborative spirit internally and externally.
  • Strong personal skills to influence without authority within a highly technical environment, motivate others and manage conflict.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with senior and executive leadership.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated organizationalaptitude.
