JOB DESCRIPTION

BASIC FUNCTION

Assists with all phases of Association accounting to meet Association data and informational needs. Provides quality internal and external customer service, ensures data accuracy and integrity, adheres to regulations, laws, and accounting standards to allow the Operations team to fulfill its assigned functions. Comply with all AgCredit, ACA policies and manuals while maintaining regular and punctual attendance as expected of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily responsible for accounts payable function including coding invoices, requesting support/approval of invoices, keying invoices, coordinating the timing of check runs and vendor management.
  • Assist with:
    • Daily general ledger journal voucher processing;
    • Daily, monthly and other periodic general ledger and other reconciliations;
    • Daily cash management and reconciliation processes;
    • Asset management system input, maintenance, monitoring and reconciliations; and
    • Month end financial and management reporting.
    • Gathering information and support for annual audits/reviews related to financial, internal controls, FCA, etc.
  • Performs a variety of routine accounting clerical functions in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Contributes daily to providing quality service to internal and external customers, build positive team spirit and develop quality, working relationships between all team members.

  • 5. Cooperatively works with the Loan Operations team to learn and support the loan accounting functions.

    6. Complete training programs as recommended and/or approved by supervisor.

    7. Other duties as assigned in conjunction with supervisor approval.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Associates degree in accounting or business with two years of accounting experience, or minimum of five years of accounting experience preferably in general ledger and/or general accounting.
    • Able to work independently, possess time management skills, pays attention to detail, and interacts effectively with a diverse group of people.
    • Personal computer skills including, but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Exhibits discretion, judgment and confidentiality on a daily basis.
    • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel occasionally to/from branch offices, AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, other facilities and training courses.
    • Farm Credit experience preferred.
    • Experience with Access and/or SSRS preferred.
