Assistant Coach Position - Swimming and Diving

We are seeking a men's and women's swim team assistant coach for the 2022-2023 season.. This individual will assist the Head Coach in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the Concordia University Irvine Swimming and Diving program. This position requires the individual to adhere to the policies set forth by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, Concordia University Irvine, the PCSC Conference and the NCAA.COACHING

Will lead, mentor and engage with all student-athletes and co-workers from a faith-filled perspective and willingness and desire to share and listen in a manner that reflects His purpose for all of us.Provide consultation and expert advice to the Head Coach. Prepare, plan, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions, as directed by the Head Coach.Oversee the activities and responsibilities of the graduate assistant staff members including training and development and assessment Teach individuals and groups in a particular training group (TBD) specific tasks and skills before, during and after practice, during the season and off-season.This individual will be available to coaches and student-athletes before, during and after practices and events.Will be on time and attend all practices/meets unless previous arrangements have been made with the Head Coach.This position carries 20-35 total working hours per week (the total cap is spread over the course of the season). Determination of how hours are divided between coaching, administration and recruitment will be determined in consultation with the Head Coach on a weekly basis.

RECRUITMENT

Attend off-campus events as assigned for the purpose of evaluation and contact.Follow all NCAA and Concordia University Irvine recruiting policies.Make contact with all prospective student-athletes in coordination with the NCAA Rules.Will be NCAA certified to recruit off campus.

TEAM ADMINISTRATION

Follows CUI procedures in handling any monies that flow through the athletic program.Plans long and short term team objectives under the leadership of the Head Coach.Will be responsible for meet operations (including hotel, transportation, meal reservations).Will support the coordination of meet day logistics (transportation, equipment plan, facility prep, team organization) Supports and participates in day-to-day operations as directed by the Head Coach.Will keep a positive attitude and use positive words when around all student-athletes and while on campus.Office hours will consist of management of ARMS administrative software, recruit visits, staff meetings, and meetings with current student-athletes. Experience with Google docs/spreadsheets, Hytek meet management software, social media management preferred.
