Position Overview

Ensures quality and timely service to the customer through supervision and development of a team of lawn care specialists. Provides mentoring, leadership, and development to field staff so that they may positively impact customer retention. Maintains limited production schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supervises technicians to ensure service (production, sales, and quality) goals are met. Maintains positive morale among personnel and actively promotes teamwork.
• Coaches and develops lawn specialists and trainees. Works with branch managers to identify ways to reduce customer cancellations.
• Assists with on-boarding and training new hires and mentoring existing staff. Shares best practices, tips and techniques. Role models positive behaviors on the job.
• Supports new hires with obtaining lawn care licensure by providing one-on-one coaching and instruction.
• Conducts new hire and on-going training for service personnel in customer service skills, technical skills, safety policies and procedures.
• May prepare work schedules, as well as assign and monitor duties to service personnel. Communicates work procedures issuing oral and written instructions.
• May conducts daily and weekly management meetings.
• Performs frequent checks on customer properties, evaluates quality of service provided to customers. Engages customers and potential customers where available. Monitors Listen 360 to handle customer issues.
• Responds on a timely basis to customer requests for telephone and in-person service calls to promote customer satisfaction and retention. Ensures diplomacy concerning customer service-related concerns.
• Takes initiative to identify problems and propose solutions to overcome challenges and improve operations.
• Handles overflow/floater routes and maintains limited service schedule.
• Ensures service personnel are adhering to policies and procedures. Assists with daily vehicle inspections. Validates completed production forms. Conducts ride-alongs for developing and under-performing service personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and 3-5 years of lawn care experience required
• Certificates, licenses and registrations as required by federal and state law
• Requires extensive local travel. Valid, permanent driver's license from state of residence and a clean driving record per company standards are required. Must be 21 years of age by date of hire.
