General Description / Primary Purpose:

The University of North Florida Department of Nutrition & Dietetics invites applications for a 9-month Nutrition Assistant Professor, tenure-track, starting in Fall 2024.

Job Function:

Primary responsibilities include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs; maintaining a productive research agenda, and performing service to the department, college, university, and the profession. Other responsibilities include assisting with accreditation duties and mentoring/advising students. The selected faculty member will be expected to teach a 2:2 course load with opportunity to teach one course in summer for additional salary. The course load is subject to review after three years. In addition, the faculty member is encouraged to pursue contracts and grants where appropriate.

Faculty Position Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) or PhD in Nutrition or a related field by August 5, 2024, be a registered dietitian, have a minimum of 5 years of experience practicing in various clinical settings, have experience teaching undergraduate or graduate students, have a record of service to the profession and have a record of, or potential for scholarly research leading to peer-reviewed publications.

Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching clinical nutrition, community nutrition, nutrition counseling and/or food service management; experience with grant writing; experience conducting research in community and/or clinical settings.
This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be required to work at the UNF campus in Jacksonville, Florida.
