Assistant Professor of Instruction in Nursing, Non-Tenure Track (Southern Campus)
Ohio University School of Nursing seeks non-tenure track faculty candidates with an emphasis on instruction including teaching clinicals and/or labs in the traditional on-campus BSN program beginning Fall Semester 2023 (August 16, 2023). This is a full-time 9-month position at the Assistant Professor of Instruction rank on the Southern campus.
Successful candidates will be expected to provide didactic, clinical site, and/or laboratory instruction to BSN student learners for maternal/newborn, pediatric, mental health, and/or medical-surgical learning experiences consistent with the relevant course objectives. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Successful candidates will be required to be on campus and/or at regionally located clinical site assignments throughout the academic year (August - May).
Other teaching assignments/instructional responsibilities may be considered based on candidate expertise and/or credentials.
All School of Nursing faculty members are expected to collaboratively and actively engage in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student instruction and to participate in School of Nursing governance to ensure program standards and outcomes are fully met.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
An active and unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining and maintaining an Ohio RN license is required. Must have Ohio RN license prior to start date.
An ability to obtain and maintain an RN license in states other than Ohio where BSN student clinical experience occur may also be required (e.g., West Virginia).
Licensed as an RN in the United States for a minimum of two years is required.
A minimum of two years (24 months full time equivalent) of work experience as an RN in the United States is required.
Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of clinical RN experience is preferred. 3+ years of teaching clinicals and/or lab instruction in a nursing program is preferred.
