West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), a divisional four-year campus of West Virginia University (WVU) located in Beckley in Southern West Virginia is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:
The Department of Biology in the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track position to begin spring 2023.
Teaching responsibilities include Cell/Molecular Biology, Genetics, Developmental Biology, and/or Biochemistry. Depending on department scheduling, other courses that may be assigned include General Biology (lecture or lab, as part of a team of instructors), or Biotechnology. Also, opportunities to develop additional upper division course(s) not currently included in our curriculum may become available as student interest and resources allow. Other duties typically assigned to WVU Tech faculty include: service on committees, academic advising, outreach, and curriculum development. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduate students and write grants to support this program. The Department seeks a candidate who will demonstrate exemplary communication skills, collegiality, and the ability to contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of WVU Tech.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline, with strengths in cell and molecular biology, developmental biology, or genetics. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring are required.
