The Department of Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine (vetmed.illinois.edu/path) at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC) is accepting applications for three (3) tenure-track positions (9-month appointment) in immunology at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking exceptional candidates using innovative approaches to study fundamental biological questions in the immunology of infectious diseases. Major areas of interest include but are not limited to: innate/adaptive immune cell function/dysfunction, immune plasticity, novel vaccines, immunotherapeutics, and immunopathology. Candidates will join a dynamic community of investigators in the Department of Pathobiology and University with strong existing research programs in infectious diseases caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites. Successful candidates will be a part of the long-term vision for bolstering a robust, campus-wide, immunology-centered program focused on basic and applied infectious diseases of humans and animals.

Successful candidates will possess an outstanding record of research scholarship and a well-defined research vision supported by high potential to attract extramural funding. Candidates will be expected to develop and establish innovative, extramurally funded research programs, and to collaborate within the vibrant campus biomedical, infectious disease, and cancer research communities. Teaching at the graduate and professional levels is expected. A minor service appointment is required to support the department and larger academic communities. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or professional degree with strong postdoctoral training in immunology. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. A competitive start-up package and laboratory space will be provided.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic position, appointed on a 9-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after March 15, 2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
