Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Administration and Operations 

Qualifications for Employment

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and two (2) years of accounting experience or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and four (4) years of accounting experience.   Experience should include account reconciliation with a computerized ERP system. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

The preferred candidate will have not-for-profit fund accounting experience. 

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Assistant for Financial Analysis-Administration reports to the Vice President for Administration or their designee and performs the following duties: 

1.    Prepares, reviews and analyzes statistical and financial reports for internal (College) or external (Federal, State, etc.) distribution/submission.
2.    Completes an analysis of accounts within the General Ledger in accordance with documented procedures and schedules.
3.    Assists with preparing, processing and reviewing vendor quotes, invoices, statements, request for proposals, and obtaining written and/or phone quotes for the acquisition of equipment, supplies (office or educational), leases, maintenance contracts, professional services, etc.
4.    Completes ad hoc and annual reporting including but not limited to monthly fuel readings, Emergency Light Inspections, Generator readings, IPEDS, and the Cost of Curriculum Study Report.
5.    May be responsible for benefit analysis and payments, plant fund accounting, insurance claims processing, budget and other financial accounting functions.
6.    Assists offices and departments of the Vice President for Administration.
7.    Responsible for compilation and preparation of data for both internal and external agencies:  administrative departments, actuary, external auditors, SUNY, NYS and Rensselaer County.
8.    Responsible for working with the College’s independent auditors to reconcile the annual financial statements to the College’s financial reports.
9.    Assists with accounting for other areas and/or entities including capital construction, physical plant, public safety, finance, payroll, grants and the Educational Opportunity Center.
10.    Performs other duties assigned.

There are one full-time 37.5-hour work week positions with a salary range of $44,000-$46,000.
