Qualifications for Employment

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and two (2) years of accounting experience or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and four (4) years of accounting experience.   Experience should include account reconciliation with a computerized ERP system. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

The preferred candidate will have not-for-profit fund accounting experience. 

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Assistant for Financial Analysis-Finance reports to the Accounts Payable Manager or their designee and performs the following duties: 

1.    Prepares, reviews and analyzes statistical and financial reports for internal (College) or external (Federal, State, etc.) distribution/submission.
2.    Completes an analysis of accounts within the General Ledger in accordance with documented procedures and schedules.
3.    Assists with institutional bank reconciliations and banking issues as they relate stale-dated checks and/or processing.
4.    Completes ad hoc, monthly and annual reports including but not limited to NYS Unclaimed Funds.
5.    Responsible for accounting and review including but not limited to account audits, Accounts Payable processing audits, and purchase order and invoice review.
6.    Responsible for compilation and preparation of data for both internal and external agencies e.g., external auditors.
7.    Responsible for processing travel reimbursements, review of purchase orders and invoicing, payment requests and other related account activities.
8.    Responds to daily inquiries both internal and external including but not limited to travel reimbursements, invoices, and payment status.
9.    May assist with general accounting for other areas and/or entities including payroll, grants and the Educational Opportunity Center.
10.    Performs other duties assigned.

There are one full-time 37.5-hour work week positions with a salary range of $44,000-$46,000.
