Description:
Reporting to the Dean of the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Assistant Dean for Budget and Finance will process payments and contracts for the college and oversee the college budget. The Assistant Dean works closely with other members of the Dean's Office, the Provost's Office, the Office of Financial Affairs, the Office of Legal Affairs, and with faculty members and department chairs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assists the Dean with developing the college budget.
* Reviews and approves purchase and reimbursement requests.
* Monitors the use of classroom, laboratory, and office space within the college.
* Reviews and approves faculty course load reports and answers faculty questions about load and pay.
* Liaises with and leads committees as assigned by the Dean.
* Reviews contracts to be submitted to Contracts Administration for approval.
* Supervises the Senior Support Specialist.
* Reviews and approves supplemental and one-time payments to faculty.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work cooperatively with the Dean's Office, the faculty, and other areas within the university.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or a quantitative field.
* Three years of experience in budgeting and finance, in the context of not-for-profit higher education.
* Experience with Ellucian Banner.
