Your role:

The role of the IPS Regional Sales Manager is to manage a team of Immunoassay Platform Systems (IPS) Account Managers, each responsible for a sales territory. The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Area Sales Director. As a member of the IPS Americas sales management team, you will help define and implement the sales strategy in the region, provide clear focus and prioritization to the Regional Account Managers, develop your team, and drive partnership and collaboration across the commercial organization and its business partners. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Set priorities, develop strategy, and implement sales plan for the year in alignment with budget, resources, and NA Sales Specialist IPS business goals
  • Establish goals and objectives for the team with consideration given to NA Sales Specialist business goals, IPS priorities, and in alignment with Commercial Strategy group.
  • Lead and develop people; assess and leverage skills, coach, and provide regular feedback
  • Perform mid-and year-end performance reviews, with consideration given to feedback from customers and business partners
  • Reach or exceed quarterly and yearly sales targets assigned for the region by the Area Sales Director
  • Reach or exceed a number of MBOs (Management Business Objectives) and/or special projects and initiatives assigned by the Area Sales Director
  • Develop regular, accurate sales forecasts reported back to Area Sales Director
  • Track pricing and price increase success within the region to protect business profitability
  • Develop relationship with key decision-makers at target accounts within the region as well as develop the networking activities of the Account Managers at these customers.
  • Support Account Managers during specific situations where an escalation process is needed to either solve a significant issue or protect/win a significant piece of business.
  • Drive the use of our current CRMs (Salesforce.com, SAP Next) as the primary tool for account and contact managements, quoting, plan-of-action repository and tracking, seeding program tracking, marketing feed-back, and molecule pipeline activities.
  • Track performance of individual Account Managers within the region, and provide direct coaching or training as needed to develop the skill set vital to the success of the individual and the regional team.
  • Drive the implementation of Marketing and Field Marketing programs within the region
  • Provide field-based market feed-back and competitive intelligence to Field Marketing and Marketing from collective knowledge of account dynamics and activity within the region, or within a particular market segment.
  • Communicate support needs to local supporting functions (Sales Development, Technology Management) and work with their Managers to ensure that these needs are met and help drive sales growth within the region

Who You Are:

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in the Life Sciences, or equivalent qualification with 8+ years of proven experience or a Master's degree with 3+ years of proven experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Proven sales experience or a strong background in a pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical R&D, Process Development, or manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements:
  • 8+ years of directly related commercial experience
