What We are Looking For

Resurgent Capital Services in Mason, OH, is looking for a Software Quality Analyst (SQA) who is a critical thinker with a passion and love for high quality, defect free software. This person works closely with software engineers, business analysts and users to understand product requirements, design & execute appropriate test cases, and identify defects through systematic testing. Quality assurance testing is conducted with the goal of delivering high quality products that meet the defined requirements and stakeholder expectations. The SQA will assist or lead the customers through User Acceptance Testing and help to organize user feedback.

The Software Quality Analyst will partner with development, management, and technical staff to seek out opportunities for improving testing methodology, processes, documentation and standards.

Additionally, the Software Quality Analyst II should possess additional technical skills and leadership ability. This individual will have a demonstrated ability to define, build and execute automated testing. This individual will also have a demonstrated ability to coordinate manual testing efforts, and has the ability to develop and maintain exceptionally strong working relationships within the team and stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities

  • Achieving a thorough understanding of business processes and everyday software usage.
  • Meeting with end users and stakeholders, both remotely and in person.
  • Validating all aspects of the system are functioning correctly.
  • Researching and confirming through detailed data analysis (often in SQL Server) that all business requirements were implemented correctly according to what was defined as in scope for the project.
  • Designing, organizing, creating and executing dynamic manual test cases using an industry standard test repository.
  • Designing, organizing, creating and executing dynamic automated testing scripts using industry standard automation software.
  • Evaluating and analyzing results of testing.
  • Documenting and communicating test results to the project team.
  • Creating and stage testing data as needed.
  • Developing and documenting User Acceptance Test plans.
  • Scheduling and overseeing User Acceptance testing.
  • Serving as primary point of contact for users throughout the UAT process.
  • Working closely with team to set priorities for testing, according to business priorities and perceived level of risk to the company.
  • Providing estimates for testing efforts.

What You Bring
  • 3+ years of testing experience in a software development team, preferably in an Agile environment.
  • A minimum of two years of automation testing experience (API and Web client) with tools like Selenium Web driver, Postman, or ReadyAPI.
  • A solid understanding of relational database concepts and excellent SQL query skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to build, maintain and own dynamic test plans and strategies.
  • Willingness to aggressively pursue all assignments until complete, even when challenges arise.
  • Analytical approach to testing.
  • Ability to work independently with some oversight, in a team based context.
  • Ability to prioritize and remain focused in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the Agile Software Development methodology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • In depth knowledge and experience with software testing practices.
  • Proficient at analyzing User Stories and Product Backlog items to create test plans and test cases.
  • Bachelors' degree in an Information Technology related field or equivalent.
