Position Summary

This individual will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the fund management of Carlyle Global Credit Collateralized Loan Obligations ("CLOs").
This position involves the broad range of responsibilities summarized below:

  • Review of CLO accounting records, financial statements, tax returns. Such records/data will be prepared by the Third Party Administrator ("TPA")
  • Review of quarterly investment valuation models and prepare materials for the valuation sub-committee
  • Review of CLO quarterly waterfall distribution files prepared by the Trustee
  • Review of corporate deliverables and disclosures for the firm's public company reporting
  • Complete responses to investor correspondence, inquiries, and requests are timely and accurately addressed
  • Review the data analysis needed for Carlyle's corporate accounting team including revenue projection models, budget and expense projections.
  • Prepare performance records and review marketing materials
  • Oversight of management company reporting process
  • Other ad-hoc projects where needed
This position requires strong accounting and finance experience, working knowledge of the credit industry, valuation techniques for both liquid and illiquid credit products, sound organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to build rapport with Carlyle investors, TPA and the various constituents we interact with throughout the firm. This position requires the individual to take full ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Fund Management / Investor Reporting
    • Manage formation process for all new entities
    • Perform consolidation analysis for new CLOs
    • Review quarterly valuations prepared by deal team
    • Preparation of materials and certifications for quarterly Valuation Sub-Committee Meeting
    • Review of quarterly US CLO waterfall payment file
    • Prepare performance metrics and review marketing materials
    • Review revenue projection models
    • Prepare budgeting and re-forecasting files
    • Monitor legal compliance with various Fund agreements and arrangements
    • Review all investor reporting and correspondence as required
  • Financial Reporting for Structured Credit Funds
    • Review of quarterly fund/CLO closes based on data received from the TPA, which includes review of related support for all balance sheet and income statement accounts
    • Review of quarterly unaudited financial statements and related footnotes
    • Coordinate interim and year-end audit requests and address questions from external auditors as well as investors
    • Coordinate and manage corporate deliverables and disclosures for firm's public company reporting
    • Review of firm financial statements
  • Tax
    • Manage annual tax compliance process
    • Annual review of tax workbooks detailing book to tax differences, tax returns and CLO PFICs
    • Review of annual partnership tax returns and investor K1s
  • Management Company Reporting
    • Oversight of monthly management company reporting including reviewing monthly general ledgers as relates to respective funds and management entities
    • Review and approval of voucher payments


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar field required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of accounting & reporting for CLOs
  • Highly motivated
  • Self-starter
  • Time management/prioritization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
