Summary

With more than 40 years of experience in the cargo industry, Amerijet operates its own dedicated freighter fleet of B767-300/200 aircraft from its primary hub at the Miami International Airport to 38 destinations throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, Central, and South America.

Position Description

As a Cargo Operations Intern you will be working for the Cargo Operations division at the primary hub in the MIA Airport. You will report to the VP of Global Operations. All interns will be a part of a 12-week program within a specific department. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience for students and recent graduates. The internship program will offer valuable industry and functional insight. You will have the opportunity to have a mentor and learn from senior executives at the company. Example projects could include evaluating strategic operations issues, in depth operations performance analysis and developing new processes to optimize the business' daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, compile data, and produce daily reports related to the operations based on station using the Company's cargo management system, SmartKargo.
  • Evaluate operations performance & develop plans for improvement.
  • Assist with the Cargo Operations' long-term vision and planning process.
  • Assess all aspects of the warehouse operations at HQ to design & recommend strategies to perform more efficiently.

Qualifications/Characteristics

  • Must be currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior of Undergraduate Program or 1st year in an MBA program
  • Strong self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation and follow through.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated to achieve desired goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex business problems.
  • Must also be able to work effectively in a team environment, and ability to handle multiple tasks with ease.
  • Must be detail and results oriented with a proven track record of success.
