Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Implement new and enhanced technologies into the network

* Adoption and adherence to current IT policies and processes

* Design, implement and support load-balancer solutions

* Design, implement and support Next Generation Firewalls or Unified Threat Management appliances

* Support the design and analysis of LAN/WAN/WLAN network improvements and enhancements

* Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support for network issues.

* Monitor system hardware and software and manage system and service performance.

* Maintains documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, and records relating to network hardware and software

* Determine capacity and performance planning goals

* Prepare evaluation studies and make recommendations for vendor management and/or device selection

* Participate in on-call rotation to respond to needs of a 24x7 environment. Must be flexible to work extended hours when required and be available for periodic weekend work

* Perform other job-related duties as required

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

* A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree required

* At least 5-8 years of experience supporting, installing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise network environments is preferred

* Subject matter expertise across various enterprise identity authentication technologies ranging from AAA (RADIUS/TACACS), 802.1X technologies (Wired/Wireless), RSA and token-based systems.

* Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Server, and/or Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco Access Control System (ACS) is preferred

* Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) 802.1X for Wired and Wireless networks

* Experience working with SSL Certificate Authorities, and certificate management

* Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography and application security

* At least 3 years of recent experience in a Cisco environment with wireless engineering competency

* Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto and Fortinet experience preferred

* At least 2 years supporting public cloud deployments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Softlayer)

* Cisco CCNA certification required, CCNP/CCDP preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

* Must have industry standard knowledge in LANs, WANs, and WLAN technologies and protocols

* Working knowledge of hardware should include common router, switch, firewall, VPN, and management platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet

* Ability to think and troubleshoot full OSI stack from L1 though L7 including the ability to help App/Dev teams with application networking concerns

* Experience managing enterprise IP addressing schemes

* Network management and troubleshooting skills should include working knowledge of protocol analyzers, change management, and network monitoring systems

* Strong project management skills. Proficient in managing large network designs

* Strong interpersonal skills and a team player

* Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills and demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day work

* Working knowledge of effective problem solving and identifying innovative solutions, including new products

* Proficient analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate existing or proposed new solutions for potential flaws or improvement opportunities - including alignment to departmental goals and standards

* Working ability to navigate complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate priorities, delivery expectations, risks and concerns to management

* Demonstrated solutions development ability, including innovative thinking, creative problem solving, and the ability to execute quickly while maintaining high quality expectations

* Proficient knowledge of services design patterns, principles, and practices

* Working knowledge of retail systems and processes preferred

* Demonstrated ability to develop and support scalable services technologies with strict SLA's and high throughput
