We are the Accounting team at the L'Oreal Shared Services located in St. Petersburg, FL. We lead the completion of all the critical accounting transactions. We ensure the compliance of our methods and processes, and develop the reports that are used to share our results globally. STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Summary:

This Staff Accountant position provides the internal control support to all the L'Oreal USA business units including but not limited to: general accounting duties, managing journal entries, GRIR Aging/Remediation, A/R Reconciliation, Fixed Assets management and reconciliation, Bad Debt Calculation, Sales & Use Tax SA, ADHOC Account Analysis, and all activities related to the monthly close, etc. This is fast-paced team managing very complex accounting processes and interacting on a regular basis with their counterparts located thorough out the domestic USA.

The General Accounting team is a large team. In order to efficiently manage the available body of work has been divided according to divisional focus based on level of complexity as follows:

  • Luxury Division
  • Consumer Products Division / Active Cosmetics Division
  • Professional Products Division / SalonCentric
  • Reporting / Corporate / Plant (WISE US)
  • Responsible for specific accounting functions within the Global Business Service supporting management and the central team
  • Prepares journal entries, account analysis, roll forwards and other analysis required for the month-end close
  • Prepare results for senior accountant or manager as required
Description:
  • Assists in month end closing process for assigned areas
  • Journal entry preparation
  • General Ledger account analysis
  • Excess/Obsolete inventory reserve preparation
  • Prepare and issue various month end analysis
  • Daily interaction with the Corporate Accounting team located in Berkeley Heights, NJ
  • Daily interaction with divisional stakeholders to research discrepancies and find solutions to non-compliance issue
  • Special projects as required
Requirements:
  • 1 - 3 years of related work experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced skills are required)
  • Consumer products background preferred
  • Experienced working with Blackline system, preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent problem solving and well-developed analytical skills are required
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills are a must
  • SAP experience preferred but not required
  • Able to work after hours on monthly close period is a must
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working as a member of a team
  • Must have a strong understanding of financial and operational controls
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
