Role:

The Accountant role partners with the Controller and Senior Accounting Manager to prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. This role assists with other finance and accounting duties, as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Cash Management
    • Ensure that all bank transactions are posted to the ERP system
    • Prepare and distribute daily cash balance reports to Management
    • Reconcile all bank accounts monthly
  • Process Monthly Sales Tax Returns
    • Run monthly sales tax report from ERP system and download to Excel Data Base so that each state's taxable revenue can be calculated properly.
    • Use that data to file sales/use tax returns in each state on a timely basis.
    • Assist the Controller in resolving sales tax issues with customers.
  • Journal Entries/Financial Statements:
    • Prepare and enter recurring and non-recurring entries into the ERP system.
    • Assist the controller in preparing Financial Statements for review by Corporate Management, as well as Field Office Management
    • Prepare detailed Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly, and resolve any issues discovered while doing them.
    • Assist Corporate and Field Office Management in resolving issues with transactions posted in the General Ledger.
  • Inventory:
    • Oversee annual counts of physical inventory on each technician truck and ensure proper valuation of the inventory.
    • Upload annual counts as well as reconcile physical inventory counts to the General Ledger annually, and throughout the fiscal year.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities
    • Assist Finance team with any requests related to financial statements.
    • ASC 842 Entries
    • Financing - Vehicle Entries
    • Operating - Office Lease - Maintain and do JE
    • AdHoc Analysis and Uploading Financials to One stream, Data Validation.
    • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
  • Highly experienced in data management and reporting
  • Above average Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work reliably and independently to support business objectives
  • Ability to balance workload and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal direction
  • Friendly demeanor and strong people skills
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Three (3) plus years of general accounting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with month-end-close procedures
  • Experience with general ledger account reconciliation
  • Experience with bank reconciliation
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Mid-to-large company experience, preferred: $20m + in annual sales
Physical requirements:
  • Continuously able to work in office environment
  • Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer
  • Continuously able to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours
  • Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day
  • Occasionally able to lift to 15 lbs.
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking
  • Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
  • Rarely requires climbing
