BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Accountant in Eagan, MN!

Position Title: Accountant

Location: Eagan, MN / Hybrid

Anticipated Start Date: 04/22

Expected Duration: 6+ month(s)

Job Type: Contract.

Pay Range: $30/Hr - $35/Hr on W2

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description:

A global leader is looking for a contract 6 month Accountant:I. This is more entry level experienced role. The team prepares the monthly and quarterly financials for the supported business units and informs senior leaders on the results of operations and financial condition of the business or function. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be self-motivated, inquisitive, responsible, and detail-oriented.

You will:

* Review transactions with varying degrees of complexity and prepare manual journal entries with proper support.

* Review and submit payment requests for the business units recurring, external vendors.

* Strictly adhere to segregation of duties roles in cooperation with other back-office team members

* Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports and communicate key drivers to management.

* Compile data and prepare reports in compliance of external regulatory reporting requirements.

* Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are properly resolved.

* Assist in the activities related to annual external audits and interim work, as well as regulatory audits.

* Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations through automation, data access, enhanced reporting and procedural adjustments. Assist with development and implementation as needed.

* Ensure appropriate financial controls and procedures are maintained in accordance to GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and company policies.

* Support and backup the teams Expert Accountant role.

* Work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.

* Work in a hybrid environment where you are expected to work in the main office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The team has the option to work remotely on Wednesday and Friday.

* Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

What are the Required Education/Skills?

* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

* General knowledge of financial statement structures and general ledger systems

* Knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

* Previous experience in:

o Excel utilizing pivot tables and functions

o Process improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

* SAP systems experience
