SUMMARY:

Tyson Foods has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant at our Amherst, Ohio plant. The candidate will be the go-to person for specific financial reporting and related tasks and will work with all levels of the plant management team. This is a multi-task environment where your attention to detail can really shine and make a difference. Cross-training will be done in areas assigned by the Controller to include daily production posting and line efficiency analysis. All other duties as assigned. Hours of work will be determined by the workload necessary on different days of the accounting period.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compile financial and statistical data while meeting reporting deadlines.
• Must be able to learn multiple aspects of manufacturing accounting such as product costing, gather production and financial information to prepare daily and weekly results, provide support to the physical inventory processes and assist in conducting self-audit procedures.
• Responsible for other duties as assigned by Controller.

Difficulty of Duties: The Accountant's work is extremely varied and requires the interpretation of data from multiple sources and a keen eye for detail. Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks such as: setting priorities evaluating results maintaining confidentiality and coordinating with others.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with minimum 1 year accounting/cost accounting experience.
• No Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years of accounting/cost accounting experience.

Computer Skills: Requires intermediate computer skills which should include the full suite of Microsoft Office products, especially advanced excel techniques. Experience with SAP and a computer-based inventory warehouse management system a plus.

Special Skills: Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment be able to prioritize multiple tasks and be able to communicate with varied groups of people.
