The Academic Technology Services Program Manager works closely with the director of the department and is responsible for the day-to-day administration, personnel, and fiscal management of the academic technology applications at the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus. This individual will strategically partner with schools, colleges and faculty leaders at both CU Denver and CU Anschutz to ensure the administration, management and support of academic technology applications and services (including Canvas, Turnitin, Panopto and Proctorio) are in alignment with OIT policies and procedures and meets campus needs. The person in this position may work remotely but must work during normal business hours (MST). Some of the key responsibilities of this position include:

    Responsible for the design, procurement, deployment, support, maintenance, security, and replacement of university-wide academic technology portfolio for both CU Denver and CU Anschutz. Lead the Academic Technology Services team and related resources in prioritizing the development efforts aimed at continuously improving Canvas or fulfilling customer requests.Manages the academic technology services team by prioritizing time and projects, providing strategic direction and professional opportunities based on the strength of the individuals.Maintains day-to-day operations in the execution of daily service delivery and system management. For example, maintaining tight control over trouble ticket resolution times, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, etc.Leads a monthly meeting with stakeholders to share changes, updates and gather feedback regarding the academic technology portfolio. Manages communication strategy for end-users. Support innovation in teaching and learning through partnerships, pilots, and special projects at both CU Denver and CU Anschutz.Expertise of all academic technology tools and services and can serve as a backup during high volume periods. Partners with academic units, the Office of Digital Strategy and Learning at Denver, the Office of Digital Learning and Technology at Anschutz Medical Campus, and other campus departments to advance teaching and learning and consolidate efforts across the CU system.  Participate in campus initiatives and OIT projects to represent the interest of OIT and Academic Technology.
What are we looking for?We want someone with:
    A background in educational or instructional design, or teachingExpert knowledge with a wide array of academic technologiesAbility to establish and maintain effective professional relationships across the organization and within the departmentStrong project management, time management, and organizational skills Knowledge of accreditation and/or compliance standards in area of work. Clear understanding of FERPA and HIPPA with regards to the management of learning content and student data.


Qualifications
We also have a few Minimum Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Teaching, Business, or related field.2 years related work experience including demonstrated expertise in the areas of online teaching, faculty support, instructional design, or academic technology.1 year of experience with supervision

    ITIL certificationExperience managing SaaS services on a continuous improvement modelExperience configuring and managing LTIs and APIsExperience with annual budgeting, budget management and controlsExperience working directly with faculty and students in the use of teaching and learning technologies
