Summary:

Provide mechanical troubleshooting and repair support to manufacturing equipment and the general plant. Also provide electrical and electronic maintenance troubleshooting and repair support to manufacturing equipment and the general plant.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:



Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner

Obey all lockout/tagout and confined space entry guidelines

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on plant manufacturing equipment

Provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping, for all team members.

Participate in the installation of new or rebuilt equipment

Train new or back-up Mechanics as needed

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic issues on plant manufacturing equipment and in the facility itself

Perform scheduled periodic maintenance of equipment

Understand and follow the local electrical codes

Use a personal computer to track work orders and for maintenance and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers

Maintain an acceptable attendance record

Must be able to learn and identify all box components

Must be able to work in a team environment

Perform other duties that may be assigned

Qualification requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as packing lists, manifests bills of lading, pallet tickets, or job orders. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints.

Minimum of 2 years of vocational or technical training in industrial mechanics, pneumatics, or electronics.

Required organized Basic Electrical Class

Experience in industrial mechanical maintenance



Math:

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to such tasks as inventory control, material ordering, and job order verification. Ability to use and read a standard and/or metric tape measure.



Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to be self motivated, make limited and independent judgments based on given alternatives. Ability to define problems collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions. Be able to identify color variances.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand 100% of the time. The employee is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls in a fast pace environment. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear. The employee is required to use repetitive motions.



The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to focus.





Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an indoors manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and may require the use of hearing protection. The employee is required to wear PPE. The employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

The work environment of this job is a structured one; lunches and breaks are regulated.

Must notify supervisor or group leader when leaving work area.
